A Unique Experience Come join Captain Joardan on a fun Hoonah whale watching tours! You will see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife while exploring the waters of Icy Strait, near Icy Strait and a quick 5 min drive into Hoonah, AK. Captain Joardan is a lifelong Alaskan resident and has been a commercial fisherman for 20 years. Your tour will be on the Thor Too, his small group tours catamaran.
Small Groups Thor Too will cater to smaller groups making your time a more intimate and personal experience. There is comfortable seating, big windows, and a large deck. You’ll be able to walk around the entire boat to get the best views possible. There is a bathroom on board and light snacks will be provided.
What You Can Expect on our Hoonah Whale Tours
Each tour on our 31.5 foot catamaran, Thor II, is unique. We offer a small-group tour experience. The knowledge of Captain Joardan Savland ensures you will see whales! Our tour leaves from Hoonah, Alaska and will extend as far as Pleasant Island (16 miles, 25km) to find whales. Along the way we will see a variety of marine-life such as seals, sea otters, sea-lions, and marine birds. We may even see brown bears!
